🧭 When do you use “chokeru”?
“Chokeru” is used when someone is being goofy, joking too much, or causing a bit of a ruckus by acting silly.
Parents often say “Choken toki!” (Stop fooling around!) when kids get carried away,
but it can definitely be used for adults too.
For example, if your coworker won’t stop joking or a friend keeps cracking gags,
you might say, “Choke-sugi ya de!” (You’re being way too goofy!)
It’s similar to “fool around” but carries a uniquely Kansai-style humor and warmth.
