🧭 The Warm Way Kansai People Say “Dad” and “Mom”
In standard Japanese, we say “otōsan” for dad and “okāsan” for mom.
But in Kansai, people often say “oton” and “okan” instead.
These words have a friendly and loving tone, and they’re commonly used at home, in comedy, and in daily life.
Using them makes your Japanese sound much more natural and Kansai-style!

“Oton” and “Okan” are casual but full of warmth and affection. Great for sounding local!
